6th Grade -
Monday-Discussed assignments from last week. Discussed and reviewed Chapter 12 section assessments. Students were asked to bring in their What's News article on Tuesday. The article needed to be about animal cells or plant cells.
Tuesday - Graded and discussed the Chapter 12 Study Guide. Wednesday we will be discussing the what's news articles because there is a need to follow directions. Redirected and confirmed the directions for the mini-book. They are as follows:

Vocabulary words and definitions go on the left side of the booklet.
There should be only one word for each page unless it goes with the one picture. (Example-atmosphere layers: Use the picture in the book. Example 2: convection/conduction-there is one picture in your book that represents both the convection and conduction currents.)
One picture on the right side of the booklet. Picture needs to correspond with the word/definition.
Some words may only have a picture to describe them with a very minimal definition.
Include the following items in your booklet since Mrs. Elger added these to your assignment: Atmosphere temperature, atmosphere pressure, ozone layers, ozone holes, wind currents, convection/wind systems-figure 12-16, and water cycle.

Due Friday, March 13th. No class to work on this project time this week. No pictures from the internet.
Wednesday - Discussing What's News articles and formats.
8th Grade -
Monday - Activity-Roto-copters-average speed. Assignment was to figure the average speed of each trial.
Tuesday - Double check the calculations of the average speed of each groups data. Calculate the height of the ceiling and compare to the previous calculations of heights when performing the ball drop activity. Write an explanation why this formula did not work with this particular activity. Assignment: Graph roto-copter comparisons. Two graphs are due Wednesday, March 11th.
